Life is beautiful not because it is free of suffering, but because the human spirit can transform even the bleakest circumstances into moments of grace and meaning.
Beauty is not an event. It does not arrive, fully formed, in a single perfect moment, it accumulates, quietly, in the spaces between things. In the pause before a color decides what it wants to be. In the flaw that becomes, unexpectedly, the point. To make art is to practice a kind of faith, that meaning exists before we understand it, that form can hold what language cannot.
Beauty persists in small, deliberate choices that preserve dignity when external reality offers none. Beauty is not a given condition of the world, but a creative response to it. Even amid darkness, the decision to see and create light remains possible, and that possibility itself is what makes life beautiful.
Each piece in this collection is less a statement than a question, asking us to ponder what remains when we stop trying to explain? Life is beautiful in the way truth is beautiful, not because it is easy, but because it is whole. It contains the fracture and the mending both. The works in this Exhibition do not resolve that tension. Rather it sits inside it, and asks us to sit there too. Indeed Life is Beautiful!

Abstraction & the natural world
T’Alyne is a Colorado-born artist whose practice draws on the rhythms, patterns and changing energies of the natural world. Trained in printmaking and foundry at Arizona State University, where she earned her MFA, she works from a solar-powered, off-grid studio in southern Colorado. Her art reflects a sustained interest in balance, environmental stewardship and the relationship between people and nature.
Artist biographyMixed media & textile design
Laura Parker is a contemporary mixed-media fine artist from Atlanta, now living in the north Georgia mountains. She creates abstract constructions on paper, canvas, wood and glass, drawing on a background in music and an interest in nature’s patterns and cultural symbols. In 2018 she founded Abstract Road, translating her original designs into hand-knotted wool and silk rugs made in Nepal.
Artist statement — Laura’s own wordsPainting & encaustic monotypes
Birgit Huttemann-Holz is a painter and printmaker based in Detroit. Her expressive landscapes, floral abstractions and encaustic monotypes explore the relationship between nature, memory and emotion. Colour guides her process, bringing beauty and vulnerability into the same frame. She has exhibited in the United States and Europe and is the author of books on painting with wax.
Artist biographySculptural wall art & surface design
Christine Morrow is a Colorado-based interdisciplinary artist who creates sculptural wall works between two- and three-dimensional form. Trained in textile design at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, she combines traditional and experimental materials to explore colour, texture and light. Her background in design and science education informs an inventive practice inspired by the natural world and the Rocky Mountains.
