The collection
The Lisa Harris Collection turns the botanical study into theatre. Each flower is photographed in the manner of an Old Master portrait—one subject, one shaft of light, and a void of pure black that lets colour glow as if lit from within.
Where most floral photography decorates, these images command. Printed large, framed to museum standard and released in strictly controlled editions, they carry the presence of a major work while remaining unmistakably contemporary.
“Light is the only subject. The flower simply agrees to hold it.”
About Lisa Harris
Lisa Harris approaches each flower as an individual sitter: isolated, closely observed and shaped by a precise encounter with light.
Her botanical photographs strip away context and distraction. Against absolute black, colour appears illuminated from within and the smallest structures take on monumental presence. The result is a contemporary photographic language with the poise and drama of Old Master portraiture.
